David Anthony (Tony) Staats, Sr, 64, of Rutland, OH passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Holzer Emergency Meigs, Pomeroy, OH.
Tony was born March 24, 1957, at Charleston, WV to the late Charles Everett Staats and Carole Lee Cook Staats. He was a member of Harrisonville Lodge #411 F AM, former member of Rutland Vol. Fire Dept., retired from river boat as chief engineer, and worked as a security guard at the coal mines.
He is survived by his wife Donna Jane "Adkins" Staats, son David, Anthony (Bobbi Jo Searls) Staats JR, grandchildren Justin (Breanna Baker) Searls, David Anthony Staats, III, Candice Michelle Staats, and other family members.
In keeping with Tony's wishes there is to be no services and is to be cremated. Birchfield Funeral Home is helping the family at this time. Online condolences @birchfieldfuneralhome.com.
