History
Situated in a wide valley along the Little Leading Creek in the village of Rutland, Ohio is the Birchfield Funeral Home. Since 1991, James Birchfield has owned the historically significant building that continues to provide funeral services to Rutland, Meigs county and surrounding areas of southeastern Ohio.
The current location has been a funeral home since right after Civil War when it was the Rawlings Funeral Home. Previous to that it housed a buggy factory.
