Betty J. (Hysell) Johnson, 88, of Pomeroy, OH went to be with her Lord, Monday, April 24, 2023 at Pleasant Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Point Pleasant, WV.
She was born June 29, 1934 at Rutland, OH to the late James Walter and Mary Alice Searls Hysell. Betty was a homemaker for her family and member of Faith Baptist Church of Mason, WV.
Betty is survived by four children, James (Bob) Johnson, Pomeroy, OH, Carol (Joe) McClure, Leon, WV, Barbara (Tom) Varian, West Columbia, WV, and Kay Johnson (George), Pomeroy, OH. Betty also had 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews..
Betty was preceded by not only her parents, her husband James E. Johnson, and more recently by her son Mark A. Johnson, 3 sisters, 5 brothers and 4 great great grandchildren.
Services are Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 1 pm at Birchfield Funeral Home, Rutland, OH with Pastor Josh Waybright officiating. Burial to follow at Graham Station Cemetery, Leon, WV.
