Robert (Bob) Landon Jewell , 85, of Rutland, Ohio went to be with his Lord, after an extended illness at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, OH, September 13, 2022.
Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sharon Atkins Jewell and daughter Cheryl Lynn Jewell, of Ithaca, NY, and nieces and nephews and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Cora and Glenn Jewell, sister Louise Burbridge, 2 infant sisters Vingina and Evelyn.
Bob retired from Ohio University after 35 years of service. He also worked as a security guard at Meigs Mines.
Bob enjoyed pulling antique farm tractors, trap shooting and riding motorcycles, most of all he enjoyed working with farm tractors and machinery putting up hay on the family farm.
Bob was a 63 year member of the Harrisonville Masonic Lodge, 63 year member of the Harrisonville Eastern Star, one of the founders and 1st Chief of the Scipio Township Fire Department, and member of Harrisonville Presbyterian Church.
Services are Friday, September 16, 2022, at 7 pm at Birchfield Funeral Home, Rutland, OH with Larry Lemley officiating. Visitation from 5pm to 7pm Friday before services. In lieu of flowers the family ask donations be given to Harrisonville Presbyterian Church, 32855 Cotterill Road, Pomeroy, OH 45769.Online condolences @birchfieldfuneralhome.com.
