Joy E. Combs, 80, of Rutland, OH went to be with her Lord, Thursday, November 26, 2015 at the Arbros at Pomeroy, Pomeroy, OH.

Born February 11, 1935 at Indore, WV to the Late J. B. and Laura May Roark Dorsey. She was a homemaker, forster grandparent in local schools. A member of Free Will Baptist Church, Rutland, OH, Rutland Ladies Bible Study Group, and member of the former Rutland Garden Club.

Joy is survived by husband Raymond R Combs, children Chelcie (Chuck) Stearns. R Otto (Jewel) Combs, Junita Combs, Richie (Sandy) Combs, Doug (Lynette) Combs, and M Samuel (Sandy) Combs. Grandchildren Ottie Combs, Amanda Combs, Joy M. Dunn, Danny Combs, Jeremy Combs, Cinda Bratton, and Marcus Bratton, 5 great grandchildren, 3 brothers and 4 sisters and numerous nicecs and nephews.

Besides her parents preceded by son Russell B Combs and a 2 brothers.

Services are Monday, November 30, 2015, at 5 pm with Evangelist R Otto Combs and Paster Jamie Fortner officiating. Family will receive friends Monday from 3 pm till time of services at the Birchfield Funeral Home. Rutland, Ohio. Onlinecondolences @ birchfieldfuneralhome.com.

To all of you. I am so sorry about Joy's passing. I was 9 years old and staying at Grandma Dorsey's the summer Joy rode her horse from home to Grandma's. She was a teenager, but the two of us became friends that summer. Since then I've always had a special place in my heart for her. Love and prayers for all of you.

Dear family of Joy, I'm very sorry for your loss. I cannot come for the funeral but will hold all of you in prayer and in the Light. Joy and I were just two years apart in age and enjoyed many times together as we worked on her Dad's farm and on my Dad's place, too. Thinking of all of you tomorrow. Ruth

There is comfort in knowing that Joy accepted Christ several years ago. Knowing that I'll see her again brings me joy in the middle of this sad time. As you lay her body to rest, she is rejoicing around God's throne. No more sickness no heart ache there. To her family, I will be grieving with you. Love and prayers to you all.
