Carl Edward Morris, 85, of Rutland, Oh went to be with his Lord, Monday, Sept. 7, 2015 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, OH.

Born Jan. 7, 1930 at Langsville, OH to the late Marvin Ward and Mildred M. Smith Morris. He was a foreman at Foote Mineral, New Haven, WV, Served in the U. S. Air Force, member of the Rutland United Methodist Church, Star Hall Grange, National Rifle Assoc. (Lifetime Member). Former Rutland Village Council member, former Rutland Cub Scott Pack # 240 leader and played high school football for legendary coach Jim Vennari.

Surviving is wife Janet Elizabeth Theobald Morris. Sons Ret Maj USAF James Edward (Kathy) Morris, Ret Col. Mark A. (Melissa Kay) Morris, and Ret Col. John M. (Josie S.) Morris. Grandchildren Jean (Fred) Carlson, Melissa (Don) Erkkila, Laura (Rue) Flores, Steve (Kathyrn) Kretler, Jared (Suzanne) Kohlmann, Maj. Bradley Allen (Amanda Griney) Morris, Gregory Keith Morris, Michelle S Morris and Sarah J Morris. Great grandchildren Tyler, Bruno, Sydney, Mary Sue, Samantha, Wyatt, Lauren, Addy, P.J., Lila, Paden, Maggie, Matthew, Andrea, Sydeny Lynn, London Alana, Xander and Keira. Brother Jack Morris.

Carl was preceded by his parents and brother Fred Morris.

Services are Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015 at 11:00 am at Birchfield Funeral Home, Rutland, OH with Pastor Mark Brookins officiating. Burial to follow at Miles Cemetery, Rutland, OH. Family will receve friends Friday, from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations to Star Hall Grange, C/O Opal Dyer, 33325 Jessie Creek Road, Bidwell, OH 45614. I am sorry for your loss. Carl was a very wonderful man. I though a lot of carl and had so much fun at camp. Camping with the whole family and all the wonderful friends I have meet over the years. I am so happy to have all the wonderful memories. I always enjoyed having all of the meals together and sitting around the camp fires listening to all stories. There is just so many wonderful memories to remember that it would take to much time talk about it.
