George Joseph Ratcliff, 63, of Middleport (Rutland), OH, has joined his wife Peggy, Saturday, May 25, 2019 at his home.

Joe was born at Gallipolis, OH to the late Eddie Schartiger and Vinda Elizabeth Ratcliff. He was a drill operator on drilling rigs, member of the Baptist faith, and member of the Rutland Vol. Fire Dept., Rutland, OH.

Joe is survived by sons Chad Ratcliff, Shawn Ratcliff, and Ray (Christina) Ratcliff, and daughter Vinda (Eric) Burnem Ratcliff. Brother Roy Ratcliff, sisters Shirley Townsend and Pollyanna Simpson. Special cousin Donald Schartiger and 7 grandchilren several nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded by his parents, wife Peggy Searls Ratcliff, 3 sisters and a brother.

Services are Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 2 pm at Birchfield Funeral Home, Rutland, OH with Pastor Michael Jadrnicek officiating. Burial to follow at Rutland Cemetery, Rutland, OH. Family will receive friends from 12 pm till time of services at the funeral home. Online condolences @ birchfieldfuneral home.com.
