Ernest Monroe Mitchell, 78, Of Pomeroy, OH. passed away at his home, Wednesday, January 3, 2018. He was born October 18, 1939 at Athens, OH to the late William Monroe and Geraldine Stover Mitchell. He was a retired union painter and served a brief time in the US Marine Corps.
He is survived by sons Ernest (Jackie) Mitchell and Randy (Lisa) Mitchell. Grandchildren, Ryan (Heather) Mitchell, Breanna (Josh) Bolin, Travis (Kirsten) Mitchell, Jonathan Newsome and Nicole Klien. 4 great grandchildren, seveal nieces and nephews.
Beside his parents preceded by wife Shirley Sue Mitchell, granddaughter Amber Sue Mitchell, brother Harold Hudnall and sister Helen Hudnall.
Services are Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 1 pm at Birchfield Funeral Home, Rutland, OH with Pastor Chad Dodson officiating. Burial will follow at Alexander Cemetery, Albany, OH.
